Salutations,

The year following the 2012 Miss Rubber World competition has not been an easy one. Much has happened here at Black and Blue Media, and I’m still stunned that we’re already into April 2013. Things have been harder over in the Big Apple between hurricane damage last year, the ongoing entropy of the economy and most of all the two critical surgeries our friend Dana Windsor had to go through.

Miss Rubber World Contestant Julie Simone, Courtesy of Peter Czernich

Dana actually produces the event, we merely help him with publicity. You might think that after major heart surgery, Dana would put the competition on hold for a year, or even put the entire thing to bed for good. Then again, if one thought that, they don’t know rubber fetishists very well. This sort of latex fanaticism convinced me to help Dana in the first place.

Miss Rubber World Contestant Psylocke. Photo by Marcus Gloger

Tonight, the first party of the New York Rubber Ball kicks off, presented by Fixe Magazine. Which is a fitting moment here, because I’d like to thank Cary of Fixe for all his support. Cary has interviewed every contestant and no doubt is probably sharing drinks with some of them as I write this.

Miss Rubber World Contestant Madria

Obviously, I’d also like to thank Dana for having us do the publicity for this great event, contestants Julie Simone, Queen Titania, Psylocke, Madria, and Val Vampyre for granting interviews. I’d also like to thank Lydia Lael for her time for an interview and send apologies to The Baroness for not being able to finish the interview for Ynot. We’ll be following up with that after the smoke has cleared and the 2013 Miss Rubber World has been crowned.

Miss Rubber World Contestant Titania. Photo by Leila Hazlett

Another round of thanks goes out to the fetish news powerhouse Marquis, and latex icon Peter W. Czernich. Peter has fulfilled a dream of mine to actually see a client published in Marquis, and I wish him and Marquis all the best.

Miss Rubber World Contestant Val Vampyre. Photo by Michael D Colanero

Since Sherry and I are publicists, there’s someone we’d like to thank most of all, the adult industry press for all their support. Obviously, folks like Gene, Rog, Monstar, Christina, Steve, along with the folks over at AVN, All Adult Network, and Xbiz. But we reserve special thanks to Cindi Loftus of Lukeisback.com, and Tony of TonyBatman.com for being there again and again not just to run our press releases, but for constantly publishing interviews with the contestants.

Designer and sponsor, Miss Lydia Lael of Vengeance Designs.

You see, while we know fetish, and we know kink, but when Dana called, he wasn’t just looking for a publicist. He was really looking for major sponsors in the adult industry, such as Vivid, or Hustler. Knowing how tight those wallets would be, Sherry and I knew that kind of sponsorship had a slim chance. Our ongoing plan has been to keep the ball, and the contest constantly in the eyes of the adult industry press, and in turn keeping the event in the eyes of the adult industry itself.

Last year, Austin White came from Los Angeles to compete. Kendra James entered, but had to cancel due to personal reasons. This year, porn star and producer Julie Simone is gunning hard for the title of Miss Rubber World. 2014 may be the year we get a major adult industry sponsor on board, and if not, a minor one may sign on instead.

In the meantime, I’ll be pushing Miss Rubber World 2013 to the industry, and looking to bring more latex designers into the adult industry spotlight. Seriously, it’s time for Xbiz and AVN to realize there’s more to rubber than Syren/Stockroom and what’s being whipped out by novelty companies.

So, I’m heading to bed here in LA, wishing I could be meeting contestants & designers in person in the city that never sleeps, dreaming of rubber, and looking forward to spreading the news about the new Miss Rubber World.

Best wishes always,

Jay E. Moyes

New York, NY – With only a few weeks to go before the New York Rubber Ball weekend kicks off and the Miss Rubber World Competition begins, the prize pool for Miss Rubber World has now reached over ten thousand dollars worth of rubber fetish wear and accessories.

“The prizes are amazing!” said fetish model Psylocke, the Swedish competitor. “I’ve never been to an American fetish party so this will be very interesting for me to see!”

When crowned Miss Rubber World 2013, the winner will receive over five grand of latex gear from sponsors such as Cocolate Latex, The Baroness, Cinched Tight Corsets, Dawnamatrix, Kink Engineering, and Fetish Movies.com.

The second and third place winners will also take home thousands of dollars worth of slippery rubber prizes provided by sponsors such as Demask, AM Statik, Fetisso, and Lust Designs.

“There is an inherently sexual quality to latex clothing,” said sponsor Klawdya Rothschild of Klawtex. “It so resembles the texture of skin and is sleek and shiny. Latex is versatile enough to take the most subdued thing to the extreme, like a spotlight emanating out from your own body that radiates sensuality.”

Running for the title of Miss Rubber World 2013 are latex fanatics from around the world, such as adult video star and producer Julie Simone, Dominatrix Queen Titania, designer Madria of Madria Latex, and Val Vampyre, organizer of Fetish Factory in Florida.
New York Rubber Ball kicks off with the event launch party presented by Fixe Magazine, Thursday, April 4th at One on One on East 1st Street in New York City. The ball reaches its peak with the 2013 Miss Rubber World competition Saturday, April 6th at the Union Square Ballroom on 27 Union Square West. There’s too much rubber madness to mention here. Latex lovers can find a full schedule, see pics of past events, and even enlist to compete in Miss Rubber World at www.NYRubberBall.com.

Our kind thanks go out to Julie Simone, she’s been great to work with on this release. We wish her best of luck at Miss Rubber World. – Jay Moyes, Black and Blue Media

New York, New York – Adult industry star, professional Dominatrix, and BDSM educator Julie Simone recently announced her entry into the Miss Rubber World 2013 competition to be held during the New York Rubber Ball weekend.

“Kylie Marilyn, the current Miss Rubber World heavily recruited me for this year’s competition as Kylie wanted to be sure there were real rubberists in the competition,” said Julie Simone. “For me, latex isn’t about fashion, it’s about the feeling and headspace one goes into when wearing it.”

While a fetish powerhouse in the adult industry, and serious contender for Miss Rubber World 2013, Julie Simone won’t have it easy. Her competition includes slick fetish model Psylocke, designer Madria of Madria Latex, and Val Vampyre, organizer of Fetish Factory in Florida.

Giving her an edge in the challenge, Simone is collaborating closely with latex fashion designer and model Lydia Lael of Vengeance Designs. She’ll be modeling Lael’s designs at New York Rubber Ball.

At this time, five spots are still open to compete for the title of Miss Rubber World 2013, and who’ll fill those spots for the competition is anyone’s guess. Last year, professional Dominatrixes, latex designers, rubber enthusiasts, fetish models and performers came from across the world to compete for the title of Miss Rubber World.

The winner of Miss Rubber World doesn’t just take home a sash and a title. The prize pool is already up to over $8,000 in latex fashion goods and accessories, with sponsorships still coming in. Current sponsors include Fetishmovies.com, Klawtex, Cocolate Latex, The Baroness, Cinched Tight Corsets, Dawnamatrix, Kimberlicious, Vex Clothing, Kriszta Latex Wardrobe, Fetasia Latex, and Kink Engineering.

The New York Rubber Ball festivities kick off on April 5th 2013, and the Miss Rubber World showdown will take place Saturday April 6th. Tickets are available now. For sponsorship information, contestant registration, venue details, previous Miss Rubber World video footage and more, check out www.NYRubberBall.com

Julie Simone is currently on her Domme educational tour and runs the mega fetish site, www.JulieSimone.com. Her DVDs are currently available wholesale through Julie Simone Productions, bookingjuliesimone@gmail.com

Note from Jay Moyes of Black and Blue Media: This is a special favor to Mistress Cyan and our friends over at Sanctuary LAX. A few years back, the Los Angeles leather community was shocked to learn that John Lavine was brutally murdered, along with his dog, and that his space, Passive Arts had been torched to hide the evidence. Weeks ago, his killer was brought to justice as Mistress Cyan had rebuilt the space according to the wishes of Lavine’s estate. Now Sanctuary LAX, the space is ready for prime time. It is with great pride that we have the honor of breaking the news to our friends in the adult industry.

One of the many rooms at Sanctuary LAX

Lennox, CA – Sanctuary Studios LAX, one of Southern California’s largest BDSM spaces is now available and is currently booking for mainstream and adult video production.

Located in Lennox, California, an independent city within Los Angeles County, the 7,000 square foot facility, near LAX, has over seven rooms available for shoots, along with a kitchen, locker room, green room, double shower, and a large ballroom with stage. The space includes dungeon furniture from legendary designers Sonny Black and Downtown Willy.

“Everything is up to code, because we rebuilt the space from the ground up,” says Mistress Cyan, proprietor and owner of the space, formerly known as Passive Arts. “Much of our facility, including the lighting, kitchen, and bathroom facilities, is brand new.”

Sanctuary Studios LAX is also a well known event space, with stage lighting and a 64 channel mixing board for sound. Other amenities include wireless internet access, and onsite parking. Onsite security is available upon request. “We are on great terms with the Sheriff, Lennox Fire Department, and local authorities,” said Cyan.

Some have already taken advantage of the space for shoots and parties. “I shot an elaborate crowd scene for my Adam&Eve release, ‘The Truth About O’, at Sanctuary Studios LAX,” says Ernest Greene, President of Ernest Greene Studios. “Mistress Cyan and her staff couldn’t have been more helpful. The facilities were roomy and well-equipped, with plenty of space available for lighting and other technical gear. Most of all, the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. I happily give my highest recommendation to this facility as a shooting location.”

To book a shoot at Sanctuary Studios LAX, contact Mistress Cyan at 310-910-0525. For details such as photos of the property and location of the facility, go to www.SanctuaryLAX.com

###
About Sanctuary Studios LAX: Formerly known as Passive Arts, Sanctuary LAX is a 7,000 square foot dungeon space with Mistresses available for BDSM sessions. The prestigious location is well known as an one of LA’s best kinky event spaces, having hosted hundreds of parties.

About Mistress Cyan: Mistress Cyan is a legend in the Los Angeles BDSM and fetish scene. As a professional woman in the adult business, Cyan has operated as a Dominatrix for over twenty years, runs a video production company, and owned a dungeon space in Reseda, California. Not content to merely profit from adult business, Mistress Cyan is well known for her fundraising activities, leadership, and dedication to the Leather community. When tragedy struck Passive Arts, the estate decided the facility would be best in the hands of Mistress Cyan, and the decision has been a rallying point in the business’ success. She is still available for sessions & shoots, and is well known for her skills with the singletail.

Our heartfelt congratulations to Michael and his entire Ninn Worx team, and to Adam and Eve for bringing about the release of this movie. It’s been a long time coming, since those final days in 2008, when it looked like The Four would never be released.

The surprise in these nominations? Jay and I never imagined that the script we worked on with Michael would be nominated for any awards! And to also have a part in the marketing campaign that generated the Best Overall Marketing Campaign – Individual Project nomination from AVN was a double treat!

Thank you to the nominations committees of AVN and XBiz for recognizing the work that Black and Blue Media did on this movie, and what Jay and I did individually on The Four, and a huge thank you to Mr. Ninn for allowing us to be a part of his vision, and his team, for so many years.

Latex has been in the spotlight lately, from fashion runways and magazines, to music videos and film, but for some it’s a way of life. Returning for its 7th year, the annual New York Rubber Ball and Miss Rubber World contest will entertain and titillate rubber fetish enthusiasts and the curious from around the globe on Saturday, April 6th, 2013, at the Union Square Ball Room.

Rubberists from around the world gather each year to launch the beginning of the international fetish party calendar with the crowning of Miss Rubber World, and this year’s contest, coronation, and party are not to be missed. Each year this unique event grows with more and more contestants vying for the crown, donning their shiny best in spectacular performances. Punctuating the evening’s competition segments are groundbreaking fashion shows presented by some of the world’s leaders in fetish fashion from New York local press darlings such as Klawtex, The Baroness and Latex Nemesis, and international fetish sensations like Dawnamatrix and Lovely Latex. This year promises to bring larger runway productions from independent labels as well as international heavy-hitters.

New York Rubber Ball/Miss Rubber World veterans can expect to see some changes to the format in 2013, with the addition of Production Designer Klawdya Rothschild of Klawtex, and an international liaison, last year’s winner, Kylie Marilyn (Miss Rubber World 2012). They have teamed up with event producer Dana Windsor to knock the socks off of attendees with more hands-on, interactive festivities and other ways to get involved.

Who has what it takes to wear the crown? Last year a new record was reached for the Miss Rubber World prize pool, totaling over $15,000 in cash, travel funds, latex gear and other prizes from over 150 international sponsors, and 2013 promises to be even higher.

The New York Rubber Ball/Miss Rubber World is the event for rubberists the world over. For broadcast opportunities or to sponsor the event, contact Dana Windsor at phelion@nuvox.net. For tickets and more information about the event, please visit www.nyrubberball.com.

It isn’t easy to combat online piracy of your valuable digital art, and it has been even harder to trace it back to the offending pirate. Chroma Shift [http://chroma-shift.com] introduces a server side Digital Rights Management system that allows content providers to embed user identification into all their JPEG images using steganography.

Steganography provides for a cutting edge Digital Rights Management (DRM) system suitable for every type of artist, and content provider, who displays graphics on the web. Chroma Shift embeds a user defined message, like the member’s ID or other identifying information, into all digital images that are downloaded from a website. Unlike a watermark, steganography is virtually imperceptible to the naked eye.

Chroma Shift CEO, Alexander Fotios explains why this is ground breaking for all types of graphic artists and content producers in both the mainstream and adult industry.

“While Chroma Shift doesn’t stop theft it will let you know who is leaking your content so you can immediately terminate their user account and slow the bleeding. You have the user ID of the member who leaked the content to file sharing sites or bit-torrent, embedded in the actual photo or other graphic that they downloaded from your site.

“From there it’s a simple matter of matching the user ID to your membership logs, terminating their account and logging their copyright infringements for potential prosecution. The best part is that the embedded information will persist in the JPEG image even if it is scaled, cropped, PhotoShop filtered, recompressed or otherwise manipulated — you can’t get rid of it unless you degrade image quality to the point that it loses most of its value.”

SexyFur.com and TailHeat.com have embraced Chroma Shift’s PHP plug-in as their new DRM system for their member sites. Both sites have implemented the Chroma Shift plug-in, allowing their furry niche anime artists an extra layer of protection in managing their copyrighted images.

Jeremy Bernal, founder of Sexy Fur and Tail Heat said, “We had to find a solution in which the embedded data would remain intact to the point the image was undesirable or destroyed if a pirate tried to alter it, and that’s where Chroma Shift came in. Not only does it help us stop piracy but it is cost-effective. Filing copyright lawsuits is expensive; even sending out registered cease-and-desist letters is expensive. But cutting off the pirate’s access and keeping the evidence on hand should litigation become necessary, is very cost-effective in the long run using Chroma Shift.”

The Chroma Shift steganographic module is developed in C, for the Linux platform, and compiles into a PHP loadable module. It can therefore be accessed by a site’s internal PHP scripts while providing the speed of a natively compiled program. This allows for embedded steg information to be created dynamically, directly through the website. Additionally, there are options to embed a traditional watermark to all images passed through the Chroma Shift plug-in, making the system even more customizable to the content owner.

For more information on the Chroma Shift stenography plug-in, and to try out a demonstration of how the steg embedding works, please visit the official website, www.chroma-shift.com.
