While “fetish” has become somewhat of a stereotypical buzz word, it is not relegated to visions of men and women wrapped in leather. Entrants of the Los Angeles Fetish Film Festival, explore many different aspects of fetish, beyond that limited view. World renowned sexologist, author and director, Dr. Susan Block explains the scope of fetish, “A sexual fetish is a profound erotic desire for ‘something’. That ‘something’ can be anything from high heels to hamburgers, from angora to airplanes, from money to mortuaries. One can even have a fetish for a concept, like fame, or a feeling, like love. Whatever the sexual fetish, the fetishist invests in it great sexual power.”

Categories to be awarded cash prizes in the final trophy round include; “Best Feature”, “Best Short”, “The Director’s Choice” and an award in honor of burlesque diva, Olivia Bellafontaine, the “Olivia’s Favorite” award. Front runners for the finalist division include Vivian Darkbloom’s, ‘Indietro’, the political documentary on fetish, ‘A Woman Under the Veil, directed by Bobbie Kitchens and the fetish driven psychological horror feature, ‘American Fetish’, written and directed by Michael Simmons.

Screening of the Los Angeles Fetish Film Festival contestant entries in both the short film and feature film categories will be presented at CineFamily Theater, located at 611 N Fairfax Avenue, Los Angeles, 90036. Tickets are available for the screening both in advance online at losangelesfetishfilmfestival.com and at the door. Entry is restricted to those 18 years of age and older. Screens will darken at 4:00 PM.

A red carpet arrival to the awards venue kicks off a night of deliciously deviant sensual overload, as live and recorded performance meet in the intimate sanctuary of Bar Sinister. Venus Prototype presents a special Fetish Fashion Show featuring her vinyl and latex creations. Featuring an eclectic selection of fetish films and imagery, this year’s competition includes the West Coast premier of director Vivian Darkbloom’s CineKink Award winning feature, ‘Indietro’. All will be showcased amid delightfully depraved venues, filled with live performance, photographic art galleries and hedonistic pursuits.

This dark journey of visual delights begins Thursday with a grand opening party at Club Monte Cristo, as guests preview the entries competing for the Los Angeles Fetish Film Festival’s top awards. Naked Catering will provide a selection of decadent goodies to sate the hunger of even the most ravenous night denizen, as the performance stage explodes with wicked explorations of fetishism, bondage and suspension by Sex and Metal and the Nylon Girls, culminating in cash prizes for those most elegantly bedecked in their fetish best.

Friday becomes more intimate, with an exclusive private party to let the festival contestants play the night away, before the Los Angeles Fetish Film Festival moves toward its glorious culmination on Saturday April 16, with a full day of screenings beginning at noon. Simmons said, “This festival is Southern California’s gateway to the new wave of entertainment. Bennett remembers the shoot at the San Fernando Valley studio, The Goat House, “It was pouring by the afternoon. I love rain, and even more so, violent weather. It started to hail and the colder and more savage it got outside, the hotter I got, and the more hungry for hard, hold me down and fuck me senseless, sex. I directed all of my energy into the body of my partner. That’s how the title came about, I was truly insatiable during that shoot.”

“It was a truly amazing thing to watch this tiny girl become a panther in heat as the weather turned for the worse. As long as you’re not shooting outside, I have found that inclement weather sometimes loosens up the cast. It’s not as hot under the lights, the mood is lighter than when it’s 101 degrees in the shade, and certainly no one is rushing to get off the set and on to the roads. But in this case, it turned Brea into a tiger in the sack, and made for an incredibly hot release,” laughs Ninn Worx Producer, Lorraine Sisco.

Every one was playing around and acting like it was a snow day from school. Marco Banderas was posing with a rose in his teeth. Nick Manning was working his growl face. However, I do have to say our craft services and the grips that were caught outside in the hailstorm weren’t too happy.
