About Black and Blue Media

E-mail Print PDF

Black and Blue Media is a publicity firm, founded in partnership between Sherry Ziegelmeyer and Jay Moyes. The two have their roots in the BDSM community and the pair actually met during an event called Stiletto in 2003. It was the sort of first meeting that romantic comedies are made of, and it seems that Cindi Loftus may be writing about it in her upcoming book, 'XXX Love Stories'.

While Jay was still working at AVN, the two began issuing press releases and covering BDSM events for various news outlets. Together, they arranged successful cross promotions with companies such as Topco Sales, Gwen Media, and Astroglide for fund raisers and parties in the leather community, including the Bizarre Bazaar, which lifestyle organization Threshold puts on annually.

On the press side, Jay wrote a popular column called 'The Black List', distributed through AVN, Crossroads Edge, and a variety of internet news groups. Sherry followed with the national column BlackandBlueUSA.com, a listing of events and resources across the United States and abroad. Sherry's column was "Black and blue and read all over," thanks to the spectacular generosity of our friend Wankus at KSEXRadio, who gave us a feature broadcast spot during the KSEX evening news.

In 2005, Sherry ventured into the world of adult publicity with Black and Blue Media. The first client was a company called ArchAngel, that was founded by Dru Berrymore and Jennifer James. ArchAngel produced one series,''The Vampire Chronicles' trilogy. ArchAngel would later morph into SLLAB, LLC. While 'Vampire Chronicles' would not see distribution, SLLAB did go on to produce and successfully distribute Frank Castle's 'The New Neighbors'.

Jay joined with Sherry full time in 2006 and they began to build a client roster. Black and Blue Media's past clients have included Ninn Worx, Midnight Videos and Platinum Blue Productions and Distribution. Our current clients include Ron Harris, Brookland Bros. and Cheezy Flicks, and we may be returning to collaberation with Michael Ninn and Roberta Morgan/MikeyandMandy.com as well. 2009 is poised to be a very interesting period for both Jay and Sherry personally, as well as for Black and Blue Media as a company.
