About Sherry Ziegelmeyer

With over 20 years of promotions and publicity experience in the Los Angeles music and radio industry, Sherry had developed a solid background in the techniques that attract media attention and generate public interest when she decided it was time alt-entertainment companies should be able to access quality publicity service, just as “mainstream” does.

During the late 80’s, Sherry worked publicity for a number of Hollywood bands, doing everything from sending out press kits to selling t-shirts. This old-school education instilled a need for improvisational thinking and “outside the box” approaches to publicity campaigns. Later, she channeled this experience into her positions with KLOS, KABC, KMPC, and Radio Disney. Sherry worked on the KLOS Community Switchboard, before moving up to the KABC/KMPC/Radio Disney Community Relations department, and then transferred to the KLOS Creative Services team for an eight year period.

She launched publicity and public relations service Black and Blue Media in 2004. Black and Blue Media’s first official publicity client was the production company ArchAngel, which morphed into adult production company SLLAB, LLC, the enterprise of  a well-known Rock Guitar God. With the release of SLLAB’s project, Frank Castle’s The New Neighbors, Black and Blue Media built its reputation as one of the top publicity and PR firms in adult-oriented entertainment. Propelled by an intense, imaginative publicity campaign, The New Neighbors  gained eight AVN Nominations, won the “Best Feature–Critic’s Award” from the XRCO and remains a consistent DVD seller today.

The success of Sherry’s campaign for The New Neighbors led to the additions of Platinum Blue Productions, NinnWorx and a variety of other critically acclaimed adult-oriented entertainment companies to the Black and Blue Media client roster.

In 2012, the release of Michael Ninn’s masterpiece cross-over feature The Four, pushed Black and Blue Media’s professional pedigree even further up the alt-entertainment recognition ladder.  The Four publicity campaign proved beyond a doubt the innovative and creative work Sherry brings to Black and Blue Media clients’ projects. To promote The Four, Sherry created and managed the ground breaking, first-ever, adult video related Alternate Reality Game (ARG), Kronos 480BC. The Four campaign earned Black and Blue Media multiple award nominations from publications AVN and XBIZ, including Best Screenplay and Best Marketing Campaign for an Individual Title.
